08/15/07 Virtual System modules, automatic setup

In effort to make our system even more user-friendly AMIRO.CMS now introduces virtual technology modules. This technology allows to set  in live mode all required modules using only default main setting. Now it is not necessary to manually activate all modules. Just activate virtual technology module option and see all modules connected at once!

This technology greatly simplifies system setup. Simply add a page in Site Manager and see various modules like product catalog, user profiles, order history, etc. automatically connected, and working with predefined virtual navigation.

A full description of this technology is described in Site Manager manual. Currently only "user supported" modules, such as Shopping cart, Profile, Order history, Subscrption, etc. support virtual modules system. Other modules now require additional manual adjustment. In coming system upgrades all modules will support "virtual setup" mode by default without any aditional setup.

HOW virtual modules WORK.

Before for modules that use several types of pages (sub-modules), it was required to create a number of its parameters in Site Manager.  For example, to set up an Internet ecommerce with processing orders, it was necessary to create at least three types of pages: "Shop:: Products", "Shop:: Cart," "Shop:: Orders." Now it is enough to use just default settings and allow virtual modules to be active by default. This functionality It now available in system version 4.0.24.

The work by default:

For enable virtual modules engine to create a page with the type of "Service:: Users", as it will provide a reference design and root for the virtual subsidiaries modules (cart, the user profile, etc.). Since its establishment, the work begins immediately. If you created the page with a directory of products that create and customize pages basket, the history of orders is not required. They work automatically on "virtual links, a" default ".

Predefined captions and links virtual modules:

At a public site, a reference to a virtual page form on the next rule: {site address}{link to page "Service-Users"}{default link for the module}.

For example, a basket of reference could look like: "http://mysite.com/members/cart" where "http://mysite.com-site," members "- a reference to the 'Tools:: Users" "cart" - a reference predefined virtual module.

Virtual Office options modules:

Setting the parameters of individual virtual modules:

If you need to set individual design parameters, a reference to a virtual plug-enough to create its site manager. After that it can operate as normal "nevirtualnym" module, ie change the style, options, etc.

Disabling virtual modules:

To make any virtual module unavailable (opt-out), a person must:

Option #1: A type of site manager and make her unpublished;

Option #2: Remove module of the type set up a site manager "Enable virtual mechanism for the modules:"

Notes:

Virtual modules engine included "default" for sites created for the system version 4.0.20.0 and above. To activate the mechanism on sites previously created to add required modules (you all) of your site manager: "Enable virtual engine for modules"

If you have a page of links, some virtual identical, the page will be given priority and a virtual page will be inaccessible.

Setting navigation in the "user" menu.

Special block: "Member" is to show links to pages with data available for the current visitor site. Links to be displayed, set in the system settings, option: "Show links" modules "Service Module:: Users".

Method show links, their names can be changed manager of the site. This page provides links that appear in the site manager should be established as a subsidiary of Service "page:: Users". In this case, the order of the pages in the site manager would coincide with their display in a special unit "user" menu, and links and page titles will be identical to a page in the site manager. Links to virtual pages and pages that are not affiliated to page Tools "::" Users will be shown below with specific references to the display, but as their name suggests, will be taken in the name of "default".

Links to virtual pages and pages that are not affiliated to the page "Tools::" Users will appear below the link to a specific display, but as their name suggests, will be taken in the name of "default".

Important: The list of available modules depends on selected system package.
